How do I mark or remove a filter as a favourite?

After you select one or more search filters, apply them to a search, and generate a set of results, Lexis Advance Pacific automatically adds the filters to the Recent & Favourites list, where you can select them for use in later searches. A filter remains on the list until you remove it or until the list contains 50 filters. After the list contains 50 filters, each additional filter added to it replaces the oldest filter.

You can prevent any filter from being automatically removed from the Recent & Favourites list by marking it as a favourite. You can mark a filter as a favourite by accessing the Recent & Favourites list, or you can do from a Results list.

Marking a filter as a favourite (from the Recent & Favourites list)

After selecting one or more filters and running a search:

  1. Select the Search: [filters] button at the right edge of the search box.
  2. In the left margin of the box that appears, select Recent & Favourites. The list of recent & favourite filters appears.
  3. Find the filter you want to mark as a favourite and select the "empty" star (Save as favourite filter) to the right of its name. The star changes to a "filled" star (Favourite) to indicate you have marked it as a favourite.

Marking a filter as a favourite (from a Results list)

After selecting one or more filters and running a search:

  1. Select a content type from the left margin and use the options below the Narrow By heading to further filter your results as desired. For more information, see How do I narrow or filter my results after a search? The filters by which you have narrowed your search are listed below the Narrow By heading.
  2. Select the "empty" star (Save as favourite filter) below the list of filters. The Save Filters as Favourite box appears.
  3. Take one of these actions:
    • If you want the favourite filter to include only the currently selected content type, select the Current content type option button.
    • If you want the favourite filter to include all the content types containing results for this search, select the All content types shown for this search option button.
  4. Select Save.

Removing a filter as a favourite

When you remove a filter as a favourite, it remains on the Recent & Favourites list as a recent filter, until it is otherwise removed from the list.

To remove a filter as a favourite, select the "filled" star (Favourite) to the right of its name. The star changes to an "empty" star (Save as favourite filter) to indicate it is no longer a favourite.
