How do I change or delete document annotations?
In a folder list, an annotation icon () appears below the name of any document in which you have created one or more annotations. Within the document, the same icon appears in the right margin where any annotation begins. You can edit the text of a document annotation, change the amount of text you have highlighted in the document, or change the colour of the highlighting. You can also delete annotations.
Editing annotation text or changing the amount or colour of text highlighting
- Open the document from the folder in which it is stored.
- Find the annotation you want to edit or change. Each annotation is designated by an annotation icon in the document's right margin.
- Select the Annotation icon (). The Edit Annotation dialogue box appears.
- Take one of these actions:
If you want to... Then do this... Edit the annotation text In the annotation text box, enter any changes to the annotation text you desire.
Change the colour of text highlighting Select the colour you want to use for highlighting from the colour palette below the Choose your highlight colour heading.
Change the amount of highlighted text - Select the Edit Hightlight Range button. The Edit Annotation dialogue box temporarily closes.
- Use your computer's pointing device to re-select the text you want to highlight. Any text you select replaces the previously-selected text and the Select/Cancel box appears.
- Select Select. The Edit Annotation dialogue box reappears.
- Select Save.
Deleting annotations
- Open the document from the folder in which it is stored.
- Find the annotation you want to delete. Each annotation is designated by an annotation icon in the document's right margin.
- Select the Annotation icon (). The Edit Annotation dialogue box appears.
- Select the Delete Annotation button. A confirmation message appears.
- Select Delete to confirm you want to delete the annotation.
