Navigating the Home Page
From the Nexis home page, you can begin or resume all of your research tasks, such as:
- Entering search terms to start a new search
- Finding sources in specific content areas
- Selecting a search from history to run again
- Selecting favorite sources, topics, and filters to use for a search
The following information covers the different areas of the Nexis home page.
The navigation bar contains the following options:
- The Nexis product logo, which returns you to the home page. If you click the box image next to the logo, you can view other LexisNexis products you subscribe to.
- The Search tab contains all of the different research options available to you.
- The Folders tab lets you save your searches and documents so you can access them later or share them with other Nexis users.
- The Alerts tab displays any alerts you have created. You can review these alerts to change the delivery frequency and type.
- The History drop-down list provides access to recent searches and documents.
- The User ID drop-down menu that contains access to notifications, application settings, sign-in options, and so forth.
When selected, the Search tab provides research-related tools, including:
- The main Nexis Home page, where you can perform a basic search
- The Power Search Page
- Advanced search forms for News, Companies, Biographies, and other content categories
- The Sources page, which allows you to browse and filter through different sources
To search across all content types, enter your search terms in the search box and then click the Search button.
Note: The search box provides a search assistant that intuitively searches for exact company names, people, or publication names through search suggestions.
Use the Date and Content Types drop-down lists to select a specific date range to search in (the default is 2 years) as well as a specific content category.
Click Recents & Favorites to view previous and saved searches.
Tip: Nexis® uses Natural Language to search by default. If your search includes a connector ( AND, OR, AND NOT ...) that are not enclosed between quotation marks, Nexis automatically runs the search as a Terms and Connectors search.
Click on the large question mark to open the Help Center where you can access tutorials, review new features lists, sign up for Nexis events, and reach Customer Support (including live chat).
