Create New Update Options

To create a new alert update with all the desired options, complete the following fields.

Alert TitleEnter the desired name for the alert.
Note: Although this field is required, you can enter and/or change this value throughout the create-new-update process. However, you must provide this value before you can actually save a new or edited update.
TopicsSelect one or more items from the Topics options list.
Note:

If you wish to explore and/or select subtopics within a specific topic:

  • Click on the Right Arrow arrow icon displayed to the right of the topic's name. The application displays the name of the selected topic right below the Alert Title field, then lists the related subtopics below that.
  • Select the desired subtopics.

After you are finished viewing/selecting subtopics for one topic and wish to do the same for another set of subtopics before proceeding to the next set of options, click the Right Arrow arrow displayed to the left of the topic name. This returns you to the main topics list.

SourcesSelect one or more items from the Content Types options list.
Note:

If you wish to explore and/or select subtopics within a specific content type:

  • Click on the Right Arrow arrow icon displayed to the right of the content type's name. The application displays the name of the selected content type right below the Alert Title field, then lists the subtopics below that.
  • Select the desired subtopics.

After you are finished viewing/selecting subtopics for one content type and wish to do the same for another before proceeding to the next set of options, click the Right Arrow arrow icon displayed to the left of the content type's name. This returns you to the main content types list.

JurisdictionSelect one or more items from the Jurisdiction options list. By default, all jurisdictions are automatically selected.
DeliveryComplete the Delivery options with the desired values.
Delivery Format
Select the email format (e.g., HTML, Text) in which you want to receive this update.
Content Format
Select the report format (e.g., Mini-Summary, List View) you want to receive.
Email Address
Enter up to three email addresses.
Note: As necessary, click the Add button to provide an input field for each address.
Frequency
Select the frequency (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly) for which you want to receive this update.
NextClick this button to advance from one set of options to the next.
Note: You must select one or more items from the current set of options before you can advance to the next set.
PreviousClick this button to scroll back and review the options you've selected.
Tip: At this time, if necessary, you can apply changes to the current option selections you are currently reviewing before advancing to the next set.
Select AllClick this link to automatically select all items available from the options screen (Topics, Sources, Jurisdictions) that you currently have displayed.
Caution:For Topics options, this includes all topics and all subtopics. For Sources options, this includes all content types and all subtopics within those types.
Clear AllClick this link to automatically deselect all items available from the options screen (Topics, Sources, Jurisdictions) that you currently have displayed.

SaveClick this button to save your selected options.
CancelClick this button to deselect all options and cancel the create-new-update request.
Note: If you are editing an existing update item and click Cancel, the system maintains the item but cancels any changes you may have applied to it.
