Add Topics Page

Use this form to find topics (Index Terms) and add them to your search.

ValueDescription
Topic(s)Choose how you would like to look for Index Terms. Select Find to search for Index Terms, select Hierarchy to browse by category or select A-Z to browse alphabetically.
Note: While you are using the Company Index, the Hierarchy and Browse functions are not available.
Change IndexSelect the type of Index Terms you would like to look for: All Index Terms (only available to search; not to browse), Company (only available to browse; not to search), Industry, Subject, or Geography. You may change Indexes without losing the Index Terms that you have already selected in the current Index. The system remembers the items you have selected in each Index until you click on OK or Cancel.
Note: If you are viewing legal index terms, or if you clicked on Company name look-up on the Company Profiles form, the Change Index drop-down list is not available.
Find TermsSelect a search method and then enter a word or part of a word (at least 2 characters). You may also use the AND, OR, and AND NOT connectors, except as noted below. The search options include:
Containing
Finds Index Terms that contain the text you have entered in any part of the term (e.g., competition law would find ENFORCEMENT OF COMPETITION LAW)
Starting With
Finds Index Terms that begin with the text you have entered (e.g., competition would find COMPETITION INSTITUTIONS)
Exactly Matching
Finds Index Terms that exactly match the text you have entered (e.g., competition law would only find COMPETITION LAW)
Note: The AND connector cannot be used with the Starting With or Exactly Matching options. If you are searching for an Index Term that contains the word "and," use the & character. For example, if you are searching for landlord and tenant, enter landlord & tenant.
FindClick on Find to launch your search.

Tip: If you are viewing results from a company search, you may click on the headings at the top of the Results list to sort your results by company name or parent company.
Subject Directory checkboxesSelect the Index Terms that you would like to add to your search. The system adds a default connector for each Index Term, which you may change by clicking on the View Selected button and following the instructions on the form. You may also change the connectors and remove Index Terms after returning to the search form.
View term details iconClick for a brief description of this Index Term and a list of related Index Terms. If you are viewing results from a company search, click for a brief overview of this company.
View Corporate StructureThis feature is only available in company search results. Click on this link to browse a diagram of the company's corporate structure, including parent companies and subsidiaries. This feature is not available for all companies.
View SelectedClick on this button to review and/or change your selected Index Terms and the connectors used to add them to your search. The service remembers all of the Index Terms that you have selected across all indexes.
Note: You will also be able to change the connectors and remove Index Terms after returning to the search form.
CancelClick on this button to discard any changes you made to your Index Term selections and return to the search form.
