How do I use the Lexis Medical Navigator dashboard?
Use the Lexis Medical Navigator dashboard to access all the tools available to help you evaluate and pursue your case.
- Select the name of a tool from the options at the top of the page, or select one of the pods in the main body of the page.
- In the page that appears, take one of the following actions:
For this pod... Do this... Case Value Assessment Answer the questions displayed in the panel on the left side of the page. As you provide answers, Medical Navigator fills in the graph on the right.
- If you want to skip one or more questions, select the View Upcoming Questions buttons. A list of the remaining questions will appear, allowing you to select the question you want to answer next.
- If you want to change an answer you have provided, select the Change Previous Answer button. A list of the questions you have answered appears, allowing you select the question you want to revisit.
Standard of Care Answer the questions displayed in the panel on the left side of the page. As you provide answers, Medical Navigator identifies whether or not your answers represent a potential deviation from the standard of care on the right. Select Show Details to see more information for a given answer.
- If you want to skip one or more questions, select the View Upcoming Questions buttons. A list of the remaining questions will appear, allowing you to select the question you want to answer next.
- If you want to change an answer you have provided, select the Change Previous Answer button. A list of the questions you have answered appears, allowing you select the question you want to revisit.
Legal Analysis Answer the questions displayed in the panel on the left side of the page. Once you have answered all the questions, Medical Navigator displays a Lexis® search built from your answers. Checkboxes allow you to add more options to the search. Select the View Results Now button to run the search. Medical Navigator takes you to a new page containing your search results.
- If you want to skip one or more questions, select the View Upcoming Questions buttons. A list of the remaining questions will appear, allowing you to select the question you want to answer next.
- If you want to change an answer you have provided, select the Change Previous Answer button. A list of the questions you have answered appears, allowing you select the question you want to revisit.
Expert Witness Enter the witness' name in the box, then select
. Medical Navigator displays your results on the right side of the page.Research Parties - Select any listed name. A new page appears, displaying all the terms and conditions for using public records data.
- From the Choose a default DPPA Use and the Choose a default GLBA Use drop-down lists, select the appropriate values.
- Once you have read and understand the terms and conditions, select the Confirm button. The Public Records Comprehensive Person Report page appears, with the appropriate fields populated fromt he Research Parties page.
- Provide any additional information about the person to help narrow your search.
- Select the Search button. Lexis® performs the public records search, then displays all information found for the person.
Elsevier's First Consult Select the name of the medical topic you want to research. Medical References From the list of results based on the current Medical Navigator topic, select the title of an item for which you want more information. You can filter the result set using the Narrow By controls on the left side of the page.
You can also select the Illustrations button at the top of the page to see your result set further filtered to show only images. These images cover anatomy, physiology, diagnosis and treatment of most medical conditions.
