Legal Issue Trail Page
The Legal Issue Trail lists cases that cite to the case you are viewing as well as cases your case has cited - for a specific legal issue. Not all legal documents have a Legal Issue Trail.
The information is presented in a citation list, with the cases your document cited for this issue listed first, followed by the cases that cited your document for the issue. Each entry in the list includes the document citation, jurisdiction, court, and date for each document, plus the first 75 words of the passage in the document.
When you select a passage, the passage is outlined with a border. When you select the border, the Legal Issue Trail for the passage appears in a new page. You can return to your search results or the previous or next document in your results using the links at the top right of the page.
When viewing the Legal Issue Trail, you may decide that changing your search terms or other parameters would produce better results. The search form is displayed at the top of your results so you can modify the terms, content, or topics you want to search, and run the search again.
