What is a full document page?
If your search retrieves a single document only, or if you open a document from a results list or other location, the full text of the document appears. This is called full document view.
Delivering documents (print, email, download, Dropbox)
In full document view, you can print, email, and download documents. You can also send documents to Dropbox. For more information, see What is document delivery?.
Saving documents to Lexis Advance Pacific folders
In addition to downloading documents, you can also save them to Lexis Advance Pacific folders. For more information, see Working with Folders and How do I save a results list or selected documents to a folder?
Using the "one-case" feature
When multiple documents (e.g., a CaseBase document and/or documents associated with one or more case reporters) describing the same case decision are available, a list of the parallel citations appears immediately below the title. Citations for reports that are accessible within Lexis Advance Pacific appear as hyperlinks, and you can select these hyperlinks to display the associated reports.
Navigating within documents and accessing footnotes
You can use the options on the Jump to drop-down list to go directly to:
- different parts or sections of the document
- locations in the document containing your entered search terms
- specific page numbers in the document
Within documents containing footnotes, you can select a footnote in the document text to go to that footnote in the footnote section of the document. Selecting the footnote link in the footnote section of the document takes you to the first instance of the footnote in the document text.
Copying citations from case documents
If a case or CaseBase document is displayed, you can select the Copy Citation link below the document title to copy the citation to your computer's clipboard. The Copy Citation to Clipboard dialogue box appears where you can choose whether to format the citation as a hyperlink or as plain text. You can then use a word processor or text editor to paste the citation into another document. For more information, see How do I copy and paste a document citation?
Selecting, copying, and saving document text, creating annotations, and highlighting text
You can also select text in the document then:
- Copy the text to your computer's clipboard. For more information, see How do I copy and paste selected document text?
- Save the text to a folder. For more information, see How do I save selected document text to a folder?
- Use the text to perform a search. For more information, see How do I create searches using selected document text as search terms?
- Create your own annotation (and save it with the document). For more information, see How do I annotate selected document text?
- Apply text highlighting (and save it with the document). For more information, see How do I highlight selected document text?
