Search in a Specific Content Type

Note: The information in this topic applies to Lexis® URL API users. This application programming interface (API) lets users execute tasks in Lexis® using URLs, rather than the standard user interface. Use the collection parameter to indicate the content type to search. You can use multiple content types, separated by a period. If you don't specify a content type, all content types are searched.

The collection parameter is optional. It is shown below in a URL using search terms.

Example:http://advance.lexis.com/api/search?q=burden%20of%20proof&collection=cases.news

Query parameter that contains the search syntax. Use %20 in the URL to replace spaces between words in the search string.

Example:q=breach%20of%20contract
{collection}

Query parameter that specifies the content type (Optional).
