What is LexisNexis PatentOptimizer®?
The LexisNexis PatentOptimizer® service is a productivity tool for practitioners who draft patent applications. It provides an array of tools designed to streamline complex tasks related to researching and formatting patent applications.
The PatentOptimizer service is designed to integrate into your existing document-drafting workflow. While drafting applications, you can launch PatentOptimizer functions directly from the Microsoft® Word program and then refine the details of your patent application. You can also search for and retrieve an array of relevant, publisher-supplied patents, case law, and term usage information.
To further increase your productivity, the PatentOptimizer service provides direct linking to online content from the LexisNexis® Total Research System. Here, you can quickly access patent cross-references, alternate term usage, case references, and more. At the same time, the PatentOptimizer service allows you to analyze and dissect previously issued patents.
The LexisNexis Total Research System and the LexisNexis® CourtLink® service are separate products from the PatentOptimizer service, and each requires a valid ID and password.
The PatentOptimizer functionality does not begin and end inside your word-processing software. A subset of features is available within the Internet Explorer, Firefox, Adobe Acrobat®, and Adobe Reader® programs, enabling you to use the PatentOptimizer service to analyze online patent content.
