Settings Page Tips

Customize the way PatentOptimizer® analyzes portions of your documents and reports error. Before you generate reports, select the checkboxes for the appropriate options to tailor the reports to your particular needs.

Note: Settings options do not apply to the Term Analysis and Claim Chart reports.

Tool Settings

Select the checkboxes for each of the following options as needed.

  • Summary Report / Claim Analysis
  • Recognize tracked-changes as amendments in claims
  • Allow out-of-order claim references
  • Require claim numbers with periods
  • Allow claim numbers without periods
  • Allow claims without numbers
  • Require punctuation at the end of all claim lines (Color, semicolon, comma or period)
IDS Form
  • Non-patent literature citations must be Authors, "Title", Publication
Report Setup Page - Enter Citations Treat entered citations lacking country codes as US Citations.

Ignored Terms

Upload, add or edit terms to be ignored during analysis.
