Results Page

The results page includes features to help you get the most out of your search results. The new results page has been designed so you can quickly and easily use a combination of new and traditional features to find the exact results you are seeking.

More than 3000 Results

When your search returns more than 3,000 results, the application displays only the first 1,000 of those results, sorted by relevance. Click on Retrieve Results to display the documents, or click on Edit Search to refine your search request.

Result Action Icons
Edit search
Click on this icon to edit and perform your search again.
Create an Alert Icon
Click on this icon to set up this search to run on a schedule that you specify and deliver results to you automatically. After you save the alert, you will be able to find it under the Alerts & History tab.
Analyze results
Click on this icon to analyse your results and create interactive charts.
Save this search
Click on this icon to save this search (including search terms, date range, and source) under the Alerts & History tab.
Link to search
Click on this icon to create a link to this search that you can paste into a document or email.
Note: The search is run again after you click the pasted link. Therefore, search results identical to the current search results may not be returned.
Select All (checkbox)Click the checkbox beneath the + Show more hits or - Show fewer hits option to select all documents in your search. A red square appears, showing the number of documents selected.
Note: To select and clear specific documents, click the checkboxes for each desired document. The red square keeps count of the number of documents chosen.
Delivery Icons
Add to My Folders

Click on this icon to select the delivery folder in which you want to save your selected documents. From that folder you can print the documents, email them, download them, and deliver them to a cloud-delivery service.

To access the delivery folder, click on My Documents at the top of the page.
Note: Documents are automatically deleted from the delivery folder 30 days after the time your search retrieved them.
Print Icon
Select this icon to print all or selected documents to an attached printer.
Email Icon
Select this icon to email all or specific documents to one or more email addresses.
Download Icon
Select this icon to download all or specific documents to a file.
Cloud Icon
Select this icon to send all or specific documents to a cloud-delivery service.
Export Bibliographic References Icon
Click on this icon to export the bibliographic references for all or specific documents to the RefWorks service.
Note: Your user ID may be prevented from viewing and using this feature.
Sort bySelect an option from this drop-down list to order your results by a specific type of information.
Results View Icons
Expanded View
Click this icon to display your results in an Expanded View, which includes all hits for the search.
Compact View
Click this icon to display your results in a Compact View, which does not include any of the hits in the search.
Narrow By (search options)

After you have performed a search, you may wish to narrow your results so that you retrieve just the right amount of information you need. To facilitate this, the Results page includes a Narrow By filtering capability that allows you to fine-tune your search and narrow results based on a series of options. Each time you select an option, an entry representing that option appears below the Narrow By heading.

Following is a brief description of each possible option.

Search Within Results
Use this box to search for a more specific topic within your original search results. This search retrieves a subset of your original results.
Note: If your original search returned a large number of results the results page displays only the first 1,000 of those results. This search runs against only those 1,000 results.
Include
To include certain terms, click this option, enter the desired terms in the text box, then click on the magnifying glass.
Exclude
To exclude certain terms, click this option, enter the desired terms in the text box, then click on the magnifying glass.
Group Duplicates
Use this drop-down list to select whether you want to use similarity analysis to process your search results, and if so, which type. For more information, refer to What are Group Duplicate options?.
Source Type
Use this drop-down list to select the types of sources from which to obtain your search results.
Source
Use this drop-down list to select the actual sources from which to obtain your search results.
Publication
Select the publications you wish to include in your search.
Language
Use this drop-down list to select the desired languages in which to display your results.
Subject
Use this drop-down list to select the subjects on which to base your search.
Industry
Use this drop-down list to select the industries on which to base your search.
Company
Use this drop-down list to select specific companies to include in your search.
People
Use this drop-down list to select specific people to include in your search.
Geography
Use this drop-down list to select specific geographic locations on which to base your search.
Delete search option (X)To delete a specific Narrow By search option, click the X displayed to the right of the option.
MoreFor some drop-down lists, click this link to see additional selections.
FewerFor some drop-down lists, click this link to see fewer selections.
Select multipleFor some drop-down lists, click this link to display a window from which you may select multiple options. After selecting all desired options, click on OK to confirm, or click Cancel.
Select Language

If desired, you may use this drop-down list to select a specific language in which to display the documents included in your search results.

After you select a language and wish to revert back to the original language that was displayed initially, click the Show Original Icon icon.

Powered by Google Translate

Translations on Nexis® are generated by Google™ Translate, a machine-translation technology developed by Google. No proprietary or identifying information is transmitted to Google, no data is cached, and Google has no access to your search queries search logic.

The result lists and articles are "machine translated" in the language of your choice, allowing all users access to critical news, company, industry, and biographical insights.

To activate translations on any results page, select the language of your choice from the Google Translate drop-down list. Translations are persistent throughout any research session. All screens and documents are displayed in your language of choice until you sign out. However, you may select a different language translation at any time using the drop-down list.

  • Alerts are delivered in the original publication language.
  • Web pages accessed through document links are not translated.
  • Translated documents or result lists are not available through standard LexisNexis® delivery options. Please use standard browser printing tools to deliver translated articles.
Preview

Click this button to preview the document. The results list shifts to the left, and the document appears in a preview pane to the right. From there, you can click on the Go to full document to view the full document or you can simply close the preview pane after your review.
