Market Insight Search Form

Use the Market Insight search form to search for articles about specific countries and industries in a variety of news sources.

Terms and Connectors, Natural Language

Choose the Terms and Connectors option, then use connectors to show the relationship between the terms. Or, choose the Natural Language option to search in phrases.

Tip:
  • If you choose Terms and Connectors but forget to enter connectors between your search terms, the system defaults to PRE/1 not AND.
  • If you choose Natural Language, wildcard characters such as ! and * are not valid in natural language searches.
Additional TermsEnter your additional search terms, using connectors to show the relationship between the terms.

Click on this link to view descriptions and examples of the connectors, such as AND, OR, AND NOT, etc., which you may use in constructing your search.
Search within results - Terms(Appears only when editing a search.) If you have previously entered any "Search within results" terms in results, those terms will appear in the text box. You may edit the terms if desired.
Select dates

You may narrow your search to documents published on a specific day or within the date range you specify. You have several options:

All available dates (default)
To remove all date restrictions from your search, select All available dates from the drop-down list.
Today
To restrict your search to only results from the current day, select this option.
Select a predefined date restriction
Previous week, Previous month, Previous 3 months, Previous 6 months, Previous year, Previous 5 years, Previous 20 years.
Previous...
To specify all documents published in the previous n days, weeks, months or years, select Previous and select the value and the units of time (days, weeks, months, or years) across which you wish to search.
Custom
To base your search on a range of custom dates, select Custom from the first drop-down list. Then, complete the From and To date fields with the appropriate values in dd/mm/yyyy format.
Options include:
  • To search a range of dates, enter a From date that is greater than the To date. For example: From 01/01/2015 To 17/03/2015
  • To search for a specific date, enter the same date in the From and To fields. For example: From 14/01/2015 To 14/01/2015
  • To search all dates up to and including a specific date, leave the From date blank, but enter a To date. For example: From dd/mm/yyyy To 17/03/2015
  • To search all dates after a specific date, enter a From date, but leave the To date blank. For example: From 01/01/2015 To dd/mm/yyyy
Searching across

Depending on your information needs, you may tailor your search by first selecting the desired countries, industries, then the sources for both. To do so, perform these steps.

Countries
To search across countries, perform the following:
  1. Click on the Edit link. The Select Countries window appears.
  2. Select the countries you wish to include in your search.
  3. Click on OK. An entry for each of your selections appears on the form.
    Note: To delete a country selection, click on the X for that entry, then click OK.
Industries
To search across industries, perform the following:
  1. Click on the Edit link. The Select Industries window appears.
  2. Select the industries you wish to include in your search.
  3. Click on OK. An entry for each of your selections appears on the form.
    Note: To delete an industry selection, click on the X for that entry, then click OK.
Sources
To select the sources for your search, perform the following:
  1. Click on the Edit link. The Select Sources window appears.
  2. Select all the desired country and industry sources you wish to include in your search.
  3. Click on OK. An entry for each of your selections appears on the form.
    Note: To delete a source, click on the X for that entry, then click OK.
