What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an additional layer of security LexisNexis® has implemented for certain kinds of regulated public records information, such as GLBA and DPPA. When you attempt to access this information from a browser or location that our systems do not recognize as secure (for example, if you take your laptop or tablet to your favorite coffee shop), you will be required to request and enter a unique, one-time passcode (OTP). Once you have entered the passcode, our systems will recognize that location/browser combination going forward. You may need to renew your registration occasionally, but under normal circumstances you will not need to request and enter another OTP.
